August 2011...Did you ever want to do something out of the box?  Did you ever have a dream or a creative vision and just had to see it through?  I did!  During the drowsy summer days of January, my thoughts were visiting memories of childhood, the fashions, the music, how we passed the time and I kept thinking about creating a dress that would encapsulate that time.  What colour would it be? What style? What fabric type and combinations? Inspired by my favourite artist at the time, Stevie Nicks, I pictured a dress that was all floaty and made from lace and linen.  A maxi (which I never normally wear) that was a halter neck and it had to be green.  A particular shade of green, not too dark, not too light. A soft neutral green that would emphasise the lace (which was heavy cotton and had beautiful daisies in the middle and a middle eastern type pattern surrounding).  Not trapped in the 1970s and with a modern twist.  This week I had the opportunity to create that dress and present it to the 2011 Tessuti Fashion Awards.  You can see my entry and the other beautiful entries by going to http://www.tessutiawards.com.au/entries.

Keep reading Style Magazine for great stories and profiles of fantastic businesses based in the Central West and beyond, taking on the world!

I just had to head back to my roots of farming Queensland and take up the offer to participate in the 2010 Queensland Country Life Christmas Shopper.  We participated in a story as well as an ad this year.  Go you Queenslander!!!

Style Magazine is an awesome mag that appears quarterly in western NSW.  It features businesses and stories from the central west and beyond and we are proud to be advertising with the Forbes based business over the next twelve months.  The Summer issue for 2010 also includes a little story about Boni Maroni, which is lovely.

Friday the 14th May marked the St Johns Primary Trivia Night arranged to raise funds very a very sick little girl, Ava Smith, who is currently receiving treatment in Sydney.  The team at Boni Maroni and some friends donated some great items for the lucky prizes and draws.  We hear the night was a real hit with participants thoroughly enjoying themselves and a lot of money raised for the family.  It was an honour to contribute in our small way to help the Smith family and we wish the family and Ava a bright future full of love and laughter and great health.

During October I was focusing on my entry for the Tenterfield Food and Wine Festival, to be held in the northern NSW border town of Tenterfield.  This event offers visitors  a chance to sample some fine cuisine and cool climate wines as well as enjoying cultural events such as the Edible Art Exhibition to be held at Forest to Furniture from 1 to 22 November.  A highlight will be the Breakfast Parade from 9am Sunday 8 November.   I have made an apron as a custom order for the event.  If you happen to be in Tenterfield or around the area in November, why not enjoy the festivities or drop in to the gallery and take a look.  As for the apron, let me just say that my creation involves a food we love to eat and lots of sequins!  Another clue... this food would go perfectly with my favourite drop, a Deetswood Wines Semillon.  And now for the reveal ..... da da da dum ....check out the rainbow trout apron!

The September issue of Australian Country Style magazine features another Boni Maroni advertisement  in the Country Trader Section.  This month we focus on friendship and the Boni Maroni aprons.  Go to www.australiancountrystyle.com.au or pick up a copy at your local newsagent or grocer.  It is a great read about country living and features some inspiring stories and as one fabulous client said to me, if you are looking for a quality and unique gift, go straight to the trader section.

Mybowerbird is a great on line directory that links a range of beautiful products across clothing, home wares, accessories and more.  We are so excited here at Boni Maroni because we are about to take up a wonderful opportunity and be a part of this new on line family.  Check it out at www.mybowerbird.com

Buy the July 2009 edition of the Australian Country Style magazine and look up the Boni Maroni advertisement in the Country Trader section.  I can't guarantee that our son will feature this time, as our daughter is keen to see some limelight! To find out more about this gorgeous magazine go to www.australiancountrystyle.com.au

I hope you didn't miss the Cook and the Chef Wednesday 29 April 2009 at 6.30pm on ABC1 television because you would have seen Maggie Beer wearing a Boni Maroni apron in the food styling section of the show. It was a great moment for us at Boni Maroni as we are avid followers of this fantastic show that features Maggie Beer and Simon Bryant meeting producers and cooking up a storm in the beautiful Barossa Valley, South Australia.  If you are foodies like us or even if you love the thought of using fresh seasonal produce in every day, you must tune in or you can check out the show on
